Love For Linda Benefit

Sunflower Meditation & Yoga Center
Is proudly supporting 

Linda Wood,

 as she fights lung cancer

Linda is my daughter Hayley's Memere and Sweeeeeet stars does Hayley love her. 


There isn't a day Hayley isnt full of glee that she is going to visit her Memere and there's never a time she doesn't come back full of smiles.
Memere has been diagnosed with lung cancer, she is under going treatments, losing her hair and fighting the battle ever day. As the primary financial contributor, Memere and the family are really struggling with medical bills as she is too sick to work much of the time.

It breaks my heart to think of the stress that is added to the struggle as she continues through this. If there is anything I can do I want to do it. The least I can do is try to help ease the financial struggle in the best way I can with what I have.
Memere's family and friends have come together and put a gofund account as well as throwing a benefit for her in July.

Mindful Meditation
How 10 minutes a day will change your life, yes ... LIFE

Every day life for the every day person is extremely busy and chaotic. We live in a world where we demand a lot and a lot is demanded of us. We are pulled in every direction to fulfill a life of raising children, having a successful career, loving relationships, healthy bodies and happy minds. All this in a system where we are not quite able to keep the balance.

LIFE GETS HARD,

Mindful meditation has shown is many studies to help aide in anxiety and depression as well as many other ailments as shown above.


And that's okay- its the inevitable truth that with happiness, there must be sadness, darkness and light, what goes up must come down and so on. Life needs mind/body balance to maintain harmony.

HOW DO WE OBTAIN  MIND/BODY BALANCE you say??


When we take the time to evaluate ourselves and the existence we place into this world. We recognize that we encounter ups and downs of emotional and physical well being- and  use acceptance as well as positive perspective as a huge part of maintaining mind/body balance.
 
Changing a negative perspective, accompanied by negative routines is not easily done, but not impossible- if you take the time to dedicate YOU to YOU... it can be an easy and peaceful experience, every step of the way.

Mindful Meditation is taking the time ( even just 10 minutes a day) to sit still, breathe deep, set a positive intention for YOURSELF and just BE. Use a positive phrase as you look inward and love yourself for who you are, forgive yourself for any mistakes you think you may have made, and accept yourself as the being you are, happily.


This time spent caring for your inner self each day will slowly begin to happily creep into your daily life- if you battle depression, or anxiety, ADD, ADHD or just need some peace in your chaotic day, you will begin to see everything a bit brighter each day. DEDICATE yourself to the cause and accept that hard days may happen but stick with yourself and use Mindful Meditation as medication for the soul.

What is a Chakra Cleanse ANYWAY?

We are energy beings.
It is believed that our chakras are seven subtle bodies of energy that are placed starting at your tail bone working its way up to the crown of your head ( see above photo)
Each chakra tunes into a certain part of our existence. If a particular chakra is too open and spinning too fast, or too closed off and sluggish, spinning too slow you will feel yourself "OFF" in many ways.
 If your chakras are heavy it is time to tune into them and renew yourself. You cannot physically see your chakras as they are energy, but they are there!



Above shows the labels and brief phrase of what that particular chakra is attuned to.
Below is a more detailed description:





Root Chakra:  is your foundation and how grounded you are to YOU and your being.
Sacral Chakra:  is your sexuality and passion, your fertility and sense of sensual being.
Solar Plexus Chakra: attunes to your self worth and all you deserve as a being.
Heart Chakra: your ability to love yourself as well as others- unconditional love is found here.
Throat Chakra: is your awareness to communicate and speak YOUR truth.
Third eye or Brow Chakra: Your intuition is found here, your ability to see yourself and others in truth and kindness.
Crown Chakra: This chakra encompasses your entire being, Your "seed" of existence. Here you find understanding of who you are as a whole in this life as a spiritual and energy generating  being.





Now that you know what your chakras are, let me tell you how  we clean them and why they need to be cleansed from time to time.


Because we are energy beings these chakras can affect us in ways that we never realized. Example:
 When you are feeling a bit clingy or needy in your day- this is a sign that your solar plexus ( self worth) and root chakra ( foundation) need some attention.
OR
For example, if you are feeling as though you are having trouble communicating- whatever it may be- this is a sign that your throat chakra ( communication- self truth) needs some of your time.
Being aware of your chakras and how they affect you is important to maintain a positive balance.
When your chakras are not well maintained they can also cause physical blockages and illness can occur.
Self awareness and acceptance is a huge aspect of happiness! 


During a Chakra Cleanse you lie on your back, warm and comfy in a bed, ready for deep relaxation. The use of a Tibetan Toning Bowl ( see image below) and positive mantras ( positive affirmations) allow me to work with your energy and replace any negative thoughts and energy with positive thoughts and healing vibrations from the toning bowl.
We work on each chakra one at a time, letting go of anything that does not serve you.  the session takes about 45 minutes, as you take your waking breathe back to this realm- you will surely be cleanse, balanced and renewed. 

The Tibetan Toning Bowl is believed to transfer positive vibrations to replace negative vibrations in our being. We are all energy and vibrations.

Restorative Yoga

Restorative Yoga is a beautiful and beneficial way to calm your mind, stimulate your organs as well as help with anxiety and depression. This maintained through sow and supported postures and stretches, along with meditation.


Restorative Yoga uses the practice of pillows, blocks, blankets and straps to assist and guide you through postures that allow many parts of your internal body to be stimulated to help heal and generate energy within you;that may be stagnant from lack of use. It is also helpful for healing old muscle wounds and creating flexibility where you will not strain easily in your every day.

Many people think yoga is about stretching to be a pretzel or sweating to rid you of toxins, but here we are slow, steady and precise in how we heal each part of you in Restorative Yoga.
